NCAARD's Outdoor Pursuits Programs promote outdoor recreation and nature appreciation opportunities for all members of the community by sponsoring programs, fostering outdoor activity clubs, and enhancing public natural areas for recreational use. _________________________________________________________________

AMAZING OWLS
Learn all about Ohio's Owls.  Learn to identify these beautiful creatures and find out what makes them such successful hunters.  Each participant will disect an owl pellet to discover more about the bird, their diet and how naturalists use that information to help the species and their habitat.  NCAARD provides pellets and disection tools.
Who: Everyone - children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult
When: Saturday, January 21,  2:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Fee: free - $2 donation appreciated

 WINTER HIKE
Winter may seen lifeless and dull, but signs of life are everywhere!  Get up and out and experience winter in New Concord with a nature hike followed by hot chocolate or tea.  Dress appropriately for the weather - we'll be out for 90 minutes.

 Who: Everyone - Maximum of 25 people.  Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult
When: Saturday, February 18, 10 am to 12 pm
Fee: free -  donation appreciated
Location: New Concord Reservoir, Upper Pavilion

 DOG HIKE
Take your canine pal for a hike around the New Concord Reservoir.  This free program provides great exercise for you and your dog while you learn a little something about Ohio's natural resources along the way.

DOGS MUST BE LEASHED AND MUST GET ALONG WELL WITH OTHER PEOPLE AND POOCHES.
Who: All ages.  An adult must be in charge of the dog.
When: Saturday, March 24, 10 am to 11 am
 Fee: free - donation appreciated
Location: New Concord Reservoir, Upper Pavilion

 BIRDS AND BLOOMS
Spring is a good time to get back to the great outdoors.  Join us for a spring hike around the New Concord Reservoir to see what's waking up after a long, frosty winter! 
Who: All ages. Amteur and Experienced Birders are welcome!!  Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
When: Saturday, April 28, 10 am to 12 pm
Fee: free -  $2 donation appreciated
Location: New Concord Reservoir, Upper Pavilion
Please pre-register by April 15

You are encouraged to bring binoculars - there will be a lot to see!

  Visit the New Concord Reservoir

The New Concord Resevoir is a village park and recreation area located on Shadyside Drive.  Come for a mile-long hike around the resevoir.  Grill and picnic under one of two pavillions.  The Resevoir is open during daylight hours only.
